Parenting tips and resources

If you are about to become a parent, chances are you have received a lot of advice from just about everyone. You have probably received parenting advice from close relatives and friends, and you might be thankful for their guidance and information. However, it is also likely that you have heard parenting opinions and suggestions from other people, too.

Many people, for whatever reason, feel that it is perfectly acceptable to offer advice to pregnant women – even if these women are complete strangers. While these people probably mean well, most pregnant women do not trust their recommendations. And why should they? No reasonable person would trust the counsel of a complete stranger about such a personal subject.

Real Parenting Resources

Because pregnant women are typically assaulted with dozens (if not hundreds) of parenting tips regarding everything imaginable, they often become nearly smothered under the glut of information. So many people give opinions regarding which items to purchase for the baby, such as which types of diapers and wipes are the best as well as how many to buy ahead of time and which sizes will be needed. People have lectured about why pacifiers are a must; others have declared that mothers should never give babies pacifiers. The flood of tips and opinions is overwhelming.

Luckily, there are some excellent parenting resources online, through which any expectant mother can find real, unbiased information about every aspect of pregnancy and parenting, from getting pregnant and babyhood. All you need to do is search online for 'pregnant parenting forums.' This will bring up a list of several websites on which you can interact with both other pregnant women and women who are already mothers. Through these forums, you can get real answers to your questions about parenthood.

Single Parenting

If you are going to be raising your baby as a single parent, it is likely that you have received an overabundance of comments about this issue. Unfortunately, this is just how the politics of parenting works. Many people – even these days – believe that children should simply be raised by two parents. When you are faced with any type of comment about single parenting, simply ignore it and move on – don't bother debating the issue because you probably cannot change anyone's mind.
