When you're looking for an affordable student health insurance policy, you need to look at several and compare them on certain points, such as: how much the deductible is, what problems are and aren't covered, the total cost of the insurance, limitations as far as which doctors or specialists you can see and how that's covered, and how well it covers preventive visits.

You may also want to compare things like the procedures required. Some student health insurance policies might require some sort of approval from the company before you can see the doctor and have the visit covered. And some may cover you only if you see a specific doctor in your area, but not if you see another doctor because you're traveling.

No single policy may be perfect on every point, so it's important to decide which parts of the policies are most important to you and choose according to those necessities.
