Pregnancy
Tips and information about pregnancy
If you and your partner have not been using any birth control, you could be pregnant. But how can you know if you have never been pregnant before? A woman who has already had a child might be able to recognize early pregnancy symptoms; however, if this is your first pregnancy, it’s harder to know what to look for.
Also, if it is too early to take a pregnancy test, you would have no way of knowing whether or not you are even pregnant. Thus, it is important for you to learn about the signs of pregnancy – just in case.
Early Pregnancy Symptoms
If you could possibly be pregnant, yet you cannot yet take a pregnancy test, it is essential that you understand pregnancy symptoms so you can protect your potential fetus. After all, if you don’t know you’re pregnant, you might indulge in behaviors that could be harmful to a fetus, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, or eating sushi.
In addition, the sooner you find out that you are pregnant, the better. This is because getting prenatal care is quite important – and the earlier you know, the better prenatal care you can get. So, get a pregnancy test if you notice any of the following symptoms:
- Fatigue that cannot be explained
- Frequent urination
- Aversion to certain foods
- Sensitivity to certain smells or odors
- Breast tenderness and swelling
- Shortness of breath
- Nausea and/or vomiting that is unrelated to an illness
- Physical changes in your body
Some women who are pregnant will experience many (or even all) of these symptoms; other women may only experience one or two. Because each woman is different and each pregnancy is different, no two women will have the exact same experience. In addition, these symptoms are not definitive signs of pregnancy; they may also simply indicate premenstrual syndrome, for example.
Using a Pregnancy Calendar
If you do determine that you are pregnant, you may want to start using a pregnancy calendar. These calendars can be found online, and they keep track of each week of your pregnancy, letting you know how your baby is developing at that time. They also deliver pregnancy tips that will help ensure your baby is born happy and healthy.
