Many couples have trouble understanding why they are having problems. They may be in perfect reproductive health and be free of underlying health issues that affect fertility. Other couples may have trouble getting pregnant after a miscarriage. Whatever the situation, there are some tips that couples can try in order to increase their odds of getting pregnant more quickly.
Tips on Getting Pregnant
It is important to remember that each couple’s experiences with pregnancy will be different. What’s more, each individual pregnancy will be different – a given couple may have a hard time conceiving their first child and no trouble at all the second time around. With that in mind, it is worthwhile to try these tips for help getting pregnant:
- Have each member of the couple get a preconception checkup to rule out medical issues.
- Begin taking prenatal vitamins, even before attempting to become pregnant.
- Chart the fertility cycle of the woman. Use an ovulation prediction kit so you can have sex on the days on which the woman is most likely to get pregnant.
- Ignore any myths about the best positions for getting pregnant.
- Do, however, make sure that the woman lays in bed for about 10 to 15 minutes after intercourse to allow the sperm ample time to get into the cervix.
- Don’t overdo it. Some men’s sperm count will decrease if they ejaculate too often; therefore, having sex all of the time may actually lessen the chances of pregnancy.
- Make sure to lead a healthy lifestyle by eating right and exercising. Try not to stress about not being pregnant.
Other Pregnancy Tips
Keep in mind that 85 percent of couples become pregnant within one year of trying. If, however, a couple has tried for longer than a year, they should consider seeking out a fertility specialist for assistance. Pregnancy can take time for some people, though – relax, and it may well happen.
